Egypt was full of wonders for us… everything was “different”! But, we were happy for all the differences and thoroughly enjoyed them all.

All up, we spent a full 6 days in Cairo. There was such a lot to see and do, and hey, we only just scratched the surface such a little bit.

This website contains some of the outstanding things we felt and saw while in that amazing capital of over 80 million people… that’s roughly 4 times the amount of people that live in all of Australia. Here they all are crammed together in such a tiny space.

I hope you enjoy your visit through the eyes of my website.

Walking Track

When you need “time out” there’s nothing like a good brisk walk with your dog along this trail.  Running right alongside the Brisbane Water (the bay that Gosford is situated on), it follows the water, meanders through the trees and crosses interesting bridges over creeks.

Once, we lived nearby here, and it was almost a daily experience to walk around the street and get onto the path by the water.

It goes for many, many kilometres.

The Blue Mountains are close enough to where I live you can go there and return in a day, but hey, why would you? There is so much to see and do that really, you need a few days at least.

As a child, I used to love our trips up into The Blue Mountains. One day, on one of our bush walks, of which we did a great many, we met this man. I guess the closest “person” you could relate him to in the way he looked was Santa Claus – minus the red suit! The 3 Sisters

This man was actually a hermit who lived in a cave in the bush. His beard was very long and flowing, and his clothes were a bit on the tattered side.

He asked us to call him “Smokey”.

We asked him where he lived and he told us he’d take us there. The path he led us was like a maze, there was no way we would ever find our way there again! All we saw was a simply little cave not much more than an overhang of rock. He had carved out a very simple path in the rock to catch water in a dug out corner of the cave.

We couldn’t even imagine living there, all alone under such simple conditions.

But, for whatever reason, he was there.  He led us back out as we had no idea of where we are.

You know, these days you wouldn’t follow a man like that for love nor money! But back then… well, things were so different.

Go and enjoy the beauty of this area The Blue Mountains

The Pyramids

I’ve got so much on Egypt that I decided to make a blog just for it alone.  I’ve only completed the day we spent at the pyramids so far,  but will be adding so much more as I go along.

Egypt is not the first adventure I had, but it was one of the most memorable!  I have taken an incredible interest in all things Egyptian since meeting my friend online.

You can read all about it over there.
